The El Paso Mission Trail Association invites the community to participate in a Hybrid Walking Tour: Discover the “Lost” Landmarks of Ysleta, led by Joseph Longo. This guided experience will explore the rich history of the Ysleta area through archival photographs, a walking tour of the historic Ysleta Commercial District, and a visit to the Ysleta Mission. The tour will conclude with a no-host lunch at a local favorite.

We will begin with a 25-minute immersive multimedia session at the Mission Valley Visitor Center at 9065 Alameda Ave, which was once the Lowenstein House built in 1875. Visualize the grand landmarks of the past before taking a relaxed 0.3-mile guided stroll through the spiritual heart of Ysleta del Sur Pueblo.

Tour Highlights

  • Rare archival photos of the Ysleta area and historical landmarks
  • A guided tour of the Historical Ysleta Commercial District
  • A guided visit to the Ysleta Mission (est. 1680)
  • Ending with a no-host lunch at Gabriel’s Cafe
