Journey Back in Time at the El Paso Museum of Archaeology
Time travel to our region’s prehistoric and historic past. Learn about the peoples, cultures and archaeology of the El Paso region of the Chihuahuan Desert. Understand how climate has changed over the centuries.
The El Paso Museum of Archaeology presents 14,000 years of prehistory in the El Paso area, the greater Southwest, and northern Mexico. You’ll see dioramas and exhibits of American Indian lives and their material culture, from the Paleoindian hunters of the Ice Age to their modern descendants. Learn about the White Sand footprints which proved that prehistoric migration to this area dates as far back 23,000 years! Also visit exhibits of Paquimé and Casas Grande culture including its rich heritage of pottery making. Finally, take a self-guided tour of the nature trail and botanical exhibits outdoors.
This field trip begins at 9:30 AM on Saturday, July 27th at the El Paso Museum of Archaeology, 4301 Woodrow Bean/Transmountain Drive. MAP No reservation is necessary.
